Whats Involved?

You will be required to have a patch test any time up to 24 hours before your procedure. You are welcome to collect one if you would like to attend a consultation beforehand. Alternatively if you are sure and you are happy to book your appointment without a pre consultation, I do carry out a full consultation on the day of your initial appointment anyway. I am also  able to post a patch test to you. Even if you have had PMU previously, you are still required to have a patch test. Clear instructions will also be provided. Providing this is a negative patch test you are good to go.

If you decide to have any Permanent Make up Procedures, you will be required to attend 2 appointments for the procedure to be complete.

You will attend your 2nd appointment anytime  6 - 10 weeks after your initial appointment.

If you have had PMU previously and Just require a top , only 1 appointment is required and I will only charge you the cost of a TOP UP. If you have previous PMU and would like  to start again because you would like to change the shape, colour, they have faded etc then the 2 appointments will be required at the full price.

After your first session, PMU will always look slightly darker and bolder for up to 5 days. This is perfectly normal, however please rest assured this will heal up to 50% / 60% lighter in colour.  This will also create some slightly flakey skin or in some cases some mild crusting. Everyone's skin is slightly different and will heal slightly different to one another. I will provide you with the aftercare required.

On your 2nd visit, this is when we will complete and perfect the procedure, we can also add more depth of colour, take the colour a tad darker , add bits here or there.

Precautions to be aware of prior any procedure. These are :-

Eyebrows

  • Eyebrow tinting, waxing, threading and electrolysis should be performed at least one week before the procedure. However please note I do also tidy up your brows during the procedure.

  • HELPFUL tip. If you normally wear make up within your brows, please wear this for your face to face consultation or your initial appointment.

Eyeliner

  • If you normally wear contact lenses these must be removed prior to your appointment , please ensure you have your glasses with you as contact lenses must not be worn for at least 24 hours after the eyeliner procedure.

  • Eyelashes must be removed before any eyeliner procedure. Please ensure you have this done professionally.

  • If you have had any eye surgery, you must wait a minimum of  3 months from the date of your surgery before you may have any eyeliner procedure.

  • Use of any eyelash serums must be terminated at least 8 weeks before any eyeliner procedures.

  • If you suffer with Occular Herpes , herpes medication (Acyclovir) is available with a prescription from your GP and will control any risks of outbreaks completely.

Lip Liner/ Blush

  • If you have a history of cold sores (Herpes Simplex) and wish to have a lip procedure, i would strongly advise you to use an anti-herpes  medication such as Zovirax 5 times a day for 1 week prior and 1 week post procedure to reduce the risk of an outbreaks by 50%. This can be purchased over the counter at most chemists.

  • Oral Herpes medication (Acyclovir) is available with a prescription from you GP and will control the risk of outbreaks almost completely .

  • PMU does not cause cold sores, however if you are a carrier of the virus and had outbreaks in the past, the slight trauma of the procedure may trigger an outbreak.

  • IPL and laser treatments around the mouth should be performed at least 2 weeks before your lip procedure.

  • Waxing and bleaching treatments around the mouth should be performed at least 2 weeks before your procedure.
